The elements of Sagittarius and Sagittarius
Two fire signs share warmth, pace and courage. The tradition sees fire as tejas, the radiance that drives action, so Sagittarius and Sagittarius tend to inspire each other and enjoy adventure together. The classical counsel is that two flames need room: give each other space to lead in different parts of life, and let quarrels burn out quickly rather than smoulder.
Counting from Sagittarius to Sagittarius: the Bhakoot
Sagittarius and Sagittarius sit in the same sign, a count of one from each side. The tradition reads this as shared temperament and a similar Moon, which brings easy understanding. Families also check the birth stars closely here, since two charts in one sign meet the same transits at the same time.
How the pace of the two signs fits
Both signs are dual, so the couple is adaptable, curious and good at seeing two sides. Clear decisions, made together and kept, are the classical counsel.
What sign compatibility can and cannot tell you
Moon-sign factors are only part of a marriage match. Tamil Porutham checks ten factors and North Indian Ashtakoota scores eight, and most of them depend on the two birth stars rather than the signs. Rasi, Vasya and the friendship of the sign lords are the sign-based factors shown here. A full match also looks at Rajju, Vedha, Nadi, Mangal Dosha and the strength of both seventh houses.
How to use this page
Read the factor table first, then look at the star pairs: two people with the same Moon signs can have very different results depending on their Nakshatras. Open a star pair to see all seven Tamil checks and the star-based Ashtakoota points, or run a full match with both birth details.
| Factor | Result | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Rasi Porutham | Agrees | Counting 1 from Sagittarius to Sagittarius is an acceptable Rasi count. |
| Vasya (attraction) | Neutral | Neither sign is Vasya to the other; attraction is judged from other factors. |
| Sign lords | Agrees | Both signs share the same lord, Jupiter, which supports a shared outlook. |
| Elements | Agrees | Both are Fire signs and share a temperament. |

Common questions
Are Sagittarius and Sagittarius compatible?
Sagittarius and Sagittarius are counted 1 signs apart from the first partner's sign. The factor table on this page shows whether Rasi, Vasya and the sign lords agree; the Nakshatras decide most of the final score.
Who rules Sagittarius and Sagittarius?
Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter and Sagittarius by Jupiter. Friendly or identical lords support understanding; enemy lords ask for more patience.
What is Rasi Porutham?
Rasi Porutham counts from the bride's Moon sign to the groom's. Counts of 6 and 8 (the shashtashtaka pair) and 2 and 12 are traditionally treated with care, while 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10 and 11 are usually acceptable.
Does the order matter, Sagittarius with Sagittarius or Sagittarius with Sagittarius?
Yes. Traditional matching counts from the bride's sign to the groom's, so the reverse pairing can give a different result. The link at the bottom of the page opens the reverse pair.
What if Rasi Porutham does not agree?
Many astrologers accept a match when the Nakshatra factors, especially Rajju and Vedha, agree and the sign lords are friendly. One factor alone is never the deciding point.
What elements are Sagittarius and Sagittarius?
Sagittarius is Fire and Sagittarius is Fire. Matching elements share a temperament; complementary ones can balance each other.
Is this enough to fix a marriage?
No. Use it as an introduction. A full match uses both exact birth charts, all Porutham or Ashtakoota factors, Dosha checks and the timing of periods.
How do I run a full match?
Enter both birth details in Porutham or Guna Milan. The result lists every factor with its explanation.
Do the elements of Sagittarius and Sagittarius suit each other?
