Your daily Rasi Palan is based on your Moon sign, the sign the Moon occupied when you were born. Each day's reading looks at where the Moon and the other planets are moving relative to your sign and describes the likely tone for work, money, relationships and health. Add your birth details for a personal day score built from your own chart.
Why Vedic horoscopes use the Moon sign
Western horoscopes are usually written for the Sun sign. Vedic astrology gives first place to the Moon, which governs the mind and changes sign every two and a half days, so it reflects daily mood and events more closely. That is why your Rasi, not your Sun sign, is used for the Rasi Palan. If you do not know your Rasi, the Moon sign calculator will find it from your birth details.
How the daily reading is built
Each reading starts from the Moon's transit: which house it occupies counted from your Moon sign, and the Nakshatra it is passing through. Transits from the 1st, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 10th and 11th houses are traditionally favourable; the 8th and 12th call for patience. The positions of Jupiter and Saturn add the longer background, and the day's Tithi and Nakshatra from the Panchangam add colour.
Chandrashtama days
When the Moon transits the 8th sign from your Moon sign, the period is called Chandrashtama. It lasts about two and a half days each month. Many families avoid starting important work, travel or ceremonies during Chandrashtama, and the reading flags those days.
From general to personal
A sign reading is shared by everyone born with the Moon in that sign, so it can only describe broad trends. Your personal day score uses your full birth chart: your Lagna, your running Dasha and the exact Nakshatra of your Moon, together with Tarabalam and Chandrabalam for the day. It gives separate scores for each area of life.
Weekly, monthly and yearly outlooks
Longer readings follow the slower planets. The weekly outlook follows the Moon through roughly three signs; the monthly outlook follows the Sun's change of sign (the solar month); the yearly outlook is shaped by Jupiter and Saturn, including Guru Peyarchi and Sani Peyarchi when those planets change sign.

Frequently asked questions
Which sign should I read, Rasi or Lagna?+
Read your Rasi (Moon sign) for the daily Rasi Palan. Some astrologers also read from the Lagna; the personal day score uses both.
How do I find my Rasi?+
Use the Moon sign calculator with your date, time and place of birth, or create your free birth chart.
What is Chandrashtama?+
The two and a half days each month when the Moon transits the 8th sign from your Moon sign. It is traditionally a time for caution and rest rather than new starts.
Why is my Vedic sign different from my Western one?+
Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac, about 24 degrees behind the tropical zodiac. Your Moon sign and Sun sign often move back by one sign.
When is the daily horoscope updated?+
Readings are prepared for each calendar day in Indian time. The Moon may change sign during the day; the reading notes when.
What is Tarabalam?+
Tarabalam compares the day's Nakshatra with your birth Nakshatra. Some counts are favourable and some are not; it is one of the factors in the personal day score.
What is Chandrabalam?+
Chandrabalam is the strength of the Moon's transit counted from your Moon sign. Favourable houses support the day; the 8th house is Chandrashtama.
Are the readings the same for everyone with my sign?+
The sign reading is. The personal day score is unique to your chart.
Can a daily horoscope predict specific events?+
No. It describes the likely tone of the day. Use it as gentle guidance, not as a reason to make or avoid big decisions on its own.
What are Guru Peyarchi and Sani Peyarchi?+
Jupiter's and Saturn's changes of sign. They shape the yearly outlook for every Rasi and are covered in the yearly reading and on the Peyarchi page.
Is the horoscope available in my language?+
Yes. Choose your language from the menu; the reading and the sign names follow it.
How is the personal day score different from My Day?+
The day score rates each area of life for today. My Day adds a full daily plan with good times, Rahu Kalam and simple practices.
