What our sources do not cover
- The unit of the perimeter (feet, hasta or another).
- Which remainders count as good or bad.
- How Aya (gain) and Vyaya (loss) should be compared.
What is this?
Nine values worked from the perimeter of the built-up area, used to settle its length and breadth.
How Vastu Shastra reads it
Each value is the remainder of the perimeter times one number, divided by another, as printed in the Ayadi chart. The chart does not give the unit or which remainders are good.
Questions
›Which unit should I use?
The sources do not say. Use the unit your consultant works in.
›Why is there no good or bad mark?
The printed chart gives only formulas, so we show the numbers without a verdict.
›Where does the sutra come from?
The chart credits it to Vishwakarma Prakash.
